Travel Tips: Struggling with Language

Travel Tips: Do make an effort to learn the language of the country that you’re going to. People would appreciate your effort greatly. The locals are easily impressed and amused by your enthusiasm to blend in, and also it’s a sign of humility because you’re trying not to force the locals to speak English. Also there is less likelihood that you’re gonna be tricked because local people became aware that you might understand their language. Sometimes you can bargain better price by only speaking the language.

Sailing on My Mind

Boy oh boy, I cannot get my mind off sailing especially after reading about the Hacking family, whose 45 catamaran cruiser sailboat have taken them on a series of adventure.

To tell you the truth, since last week I have read 4 books related to sailing, from "hitchhike in the oceans" to "sailing on a budget".

Luckily, my friend Akhmad Faqih and I have secured two seats in the Keelboat Competent Crew course starting this weekend.

They say that once you have caught the sailing bug, you may never be able to cure it.

We'll see :)

Friends on Land, Friends on Water

Yesterday was a busy Sunday for our family.

At 8:45am Noe took his regular lesson at Marsden Swim School. Unlike him, he was not too happy in the water yesterday. Maybe because he did not have enough breakfast and there was no sunshine to cheer him up?

Later at 11:00am we had brunch at Breko in Holland Village with Clemens and Olin. Immediately after brunch, we went to Jurong East MRT to catch a 1:10pm shuttle bus to Tuas for something interesting. Now what did we have to go all the way to Tuas for?
