My neighbor Ioana Vaetoru-Fox bought me a Banana Guard from New Zealand. It's hard. It's big. It's almost manly!

I used to hate bringing a banana in my bag because it would end up looking like Gerber's mashed banana (literally!).

But this time it's different. I can confidently bring a banana in my bag to work, or anywhere else for that matter. I am tempted to carry it in my hand. It feels good. But, what would people say if I keep holding on to this thing? :)

We've not really written much thing into our blog because we've been busy with different stuff.

Busy Reading and Other Activities

I think God punished me yesterday for going to Botak Jones three times within one week.

Just when I was about to finish my cajun meal with Eddy and Alex (both are from the Lau clan but unrelated to Andy Lau), I felt like I had a mixture of mustard and mayonnaise splattering on my face. The hearty stuff went into my eye, my mouth and stained my shirt! I waited for a few seconds and licked the corner of my mouth. It tasted kinda... fresh. Perhaps too refreshing for something that come out of a bottle.

Then I found out that the mustard-cum-mayonnaise was a fresh pigeon dropping. What a Guano day!

PS: Someone told me that I should have bought Lottery tickets yesterday.

 

This month will be another travelling month for our family. Rani and Noe flew to Jakarta last week and tomorrow they will fly to Surabaya while I travel back from Abu Dhabi to Singapore. The day after I will fly with my father to meet everyone in Bali for Anggi's sister-in-law (Rheni) wedding. A few days after that we have to fly back to Jakarta for Rani's sister wedding and then to Bandung for another wedding celebration for Anggi's sister-in-law.

I'm currently down with bad flu. Somehow the germs from Jakarta flood got into me. This is a kind of flu that confined me in my bed with a laptop, a really sore throat, headache and fever. I'm trying to alleviate the pain by drinking cups and cups of Bandrek, a ginger tea from Bandung (Courtesy of Andrea Fitrianto). It helped a bit.

Yesterday was a busy Sunday for our family.

At 8:45am Noe took his regular lesson at Marsden Swim School. Unlike him, he was not too happy in the water yesterday. Maybe because he did not have enough breakfast and there was no sunshine to cheer him up?

Later at 11:00am we had brunch at Breko in Holland Village with Clemens and Olin (the German-Indonesian couple who have finally completed their office setup in Singapore. Their firm is called Bauer+Astaman, focusing in master planning, conceptual design, preliminary design, and design development stage in the area of Urban Design and Architecture. When their website is ready, we'll discuss more about the wonderful couple.

Morning in Mexico City

Indi took Noe on a stroll around the hood looking for Louis Barragan’s home studio but could not find it. I was mostly sleepy all morning due to jetlag.
